Larissa Bertos Rallies Against Governor's Proposed Cal Grant Cuts

Larissa Bertos, of Sunnyvale, CA was one of six Notre Dame de Namur University students who participated in the Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities (AICCU) Day in the Capitol on March 7. Bertos is a graduate of Fremont High School.

Hundreds of California college students protested Governor Jerry Brown's proposal to nearly halve the Cal Grant maximum award to students at California's independent nonprofit colleges. Students met with legislators to share their own Cal Grant stories and to ask for support to maintain the current maximum award amount.

Notre Dame de Namur University is an independent Catholic, coeducational institution serving nearly 2000 students.
